Equine Surgery

The Equine Surgery Service at the Hospital Clínico Veterinario is equipped to perform both scheduled surgical procedures and emergency interventions, providing comprehensive veterinary care 24 hours a day. We have two fully equipped operating theatres – one dedicated to orthopaedics and the other to soft tissue surgery – and a mobile horse crush that allows us to perform surgery while the horse is in a standing position, enabling general anaesthesia to be avoided in certain cases.

Our team of equine surgeons have a wealth of experience in both minimally invasive procedures and highly complex or reconstructive surgery, with a constant focus on patient safety and optimal postoperative recovery.
