The Diagnostic Imaging Service at the Hospital Clínico Veterinario is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to obtain high-quality images quickly, accurately, and safely. These tools enable our veterinary team to make more precise diagnoses, assess tissue condition, and monitor the progression of injuries or disease in horses.

Digital imaging enables instant access to results, speeding up clinical decision-making and improving the patient experience.

Techniques and services

This enables immediate access to high-resolution radiographic images. The images can be retaken immediately if necessary, optimizing real-time diagnosis.

This is used primarily for diagnosing lameness and medical conditions. It is ideal for evaluating tendons, ligaments, soft tissues, and certain joints. The images are stored in our database for ongoing monitoring during rehabilitation.

This procedure can be carried our during an outpatient appointment and it enables the stomach to be examined using a 3-meter-long camera. This is the first-line procedure for diagnosing gastric ulcers, which are very common in horses.

This allows visualization of the bladder, urethra, and adjacent structures. Ulcers, calculi, masses, or other abnormalities can be detected, and video-guided biopsies can be performed for histopathological examination and culture.

A key technique in the diagnosis of “roaring” horses. Dynamic endoscopy is performed while the horse is exercising, enabling real-time observation of the airways during physical exertion. It can also be performed for the examination of the paranasal sinuses and guttural pouches.
